Västra Hamnen continues to develop at a rapid pace. Over the past year, several important investments have been completed, including the commissioning of a new port crane and the completion of a new electrical substation. The quay has also been renovated, with reinforcement works currently underway. These investments have already led to increased interest and traffic within the port area.

In time for the summer harvest, Lantmännen and Varaslättens Lagerhus will put their new grain handling facilities into operation. This is expected to contribute to even more vessel calls and increased cargo volumes at the port.

To meet this positive development, the existing quay needs to be extended. The Municipal Council has previously approved the investment in an eastward extension of the quay at Frölandskajen, and Uddevalla Hamnterminal’s Board has recently made a unanimous decision to proceed with the project.

The quay extension will strengthen the port’s capacity and is an important step in preparing Västra Harbour for continued growth and sustainable, modern logistics.
