Royal interest in Port of Uddevallas development

On September 25, King Carl XVI Gustaf payed a visit to Uddevalla to honor the Association Föreningen Norden centennial celebration. During his visit to Uddevalla he had expressed a particular interest in Port of Uddevalla

Föreningen Norden is an assiciation unrelated to party-political and religion, that focuses on increasing cooperation within the Nordic region. At the HM. the king's initiative, the centenary was celebrated in the region of Svinesund. The program began in Strömstad with a visit aboard MS Veslø. Several seminars, themed marine environment and sustainable transports, were held on cross-border cooperation in the joint Swedish-Norwegian Sea. The public also got a chance to meet the king here, before the tour went on their way on to Uddevalla.

HM The King, together with Föreningen Norden was recieved in Uddevalla, by representatives from Uddevalla municipality and Port of Uddevalla at the port's premises. HM. The King had shown particular interest in the port operations in Uddevalla. A seminar was therefore held about the port's upcoming development and expansion by City manager Peter Larsson, complete with details about the logistics changes this will entail from a sustainability perspective.
