Pilotage to Port of Uddevalla

A notification about the need for pilotage to Port of Uddevalla must be made in connection with the vessel notification in MSW Reportal. MSW Reportal is accessed via the Swedish Maritime Administration's website.

From January 1st, 2009 the Swedish Transport Agency establishes regulations on pilotage in the Swedish territorial waters. You can find current information on which vessels are subject to pilotage duties on the Swedish Maritime Administration's website.

Vessels over LOA 200m will not be handled unless an inquiry is made to the pilot area manager before ordering a pilot. Contact must also be established with Uddevalla Hamnterminals operations department.

The request must be made in good time, no later than 24 hours in advvance, and provide an answer to any restrictions for the vessel type which contain wind and visibility restrictions as well as the needs of tugboat assistance. Upon request, a specification of the intended vessel shall be provided.

Suitable specification and information that must be available to pilots are Pilot card, General Arrangement or Pocket Plans for the vessel in question.

Pilot boards vessel 1.5 miles S of Hatteberget light tower (57 51´,05 N 11 26´.3 E) or 1 mile W of Skallen light tower. Distance from pilot station to the port is 40 nm.
