The inner port

The inner port consist of Skeppsholmspiren and neighbouring area around Badö. The pier and its surronding area acts as an artery in the port of Uddevalla. Our history also started nearby, in the inlet to Uddevalla.

Skeppsholmspiren

This is where large volumes of bulk goods, chemicals, general cargo and various project cargoes, such as windturbines, are loaded and discharged. Liquid chemicals are also recieved here, directly to cisterns on land.

Skeppsholmspiren is an area that offers us great opportunities to create flexible solutions for our customers. With three railway tracks and several track-bound port cranes and mobile cranes, we can handle pretty much all kinds of cargo here. We can also load and discharge vessels directly to or from railway.

Storage

At Skeppsholmspiren we have large capacity for both indoor and outdoor storage. A warehouse, with a storage are of 3000 m² is directly attached to the quay, and another two warehouses with a storage area of totally 10 000 m² is avaliable nearby. There is also 25 000 m² dedicated to outdoor storage on Skeppsholmspiren.

Quays an capacity

The quay of Skeppsholmspiren, nr 49-51 is 175 m long, with the possibility of receiving larger vessels. The other part of the quay, with quay 52-53, is 168 m long. A major investment in the quay has been made which has adapted it to accommodate tanker vessels. Adjacent to the pier there are cisterns for handling liquid bulk cargo.

The pier is also equipped with a Ro-ro mode, adapted for ships and ferries with a straight stern ramp.

Here we operate with four rail-bound port cranes, one mobile port crane and two mobile folding cranes. Maximum lifting capacity is 40 tonnes, in a so-called single lift and approx. 70-75 tonnes in tandem-lift.

Railway

Skeppsholmspiren is equipped with four railway tracks, 3 x 400 m and 1 x 300 m, which enables direct loading/discharging from vessel to railway, and vice versa.

History

In the 18th century, Uddevalla was one of the kingdom's biggest import and export ports. Operations started further up in the Bäveån and were then extended out
west with quays. Around the middle of the 19th century the ground was filled up to Sjukstugeholmen, which was later given the name Badö.

In 1960 Sannes moved to Brattåsholmen and built six cisterns, which are still in use today. In 1970 the first stage of building what was to become the Skeppsholmspiren was started.

Future

Skeppsholmspiren will remain as a port area for a long time to come. Long-term leases enables continued planning for the area. We look forward to establishing new customers and projects at the pier.
